Job Description 6.25% feePosition DetailsMonday - Friday 8am-430pm, rotating Saturdays 1 per month 0745-3pmmust be ARRT (R)(M) credentialed (ARRT Mammo certified)1 year minimum of experiencemust have biopsies experience bone density experience is a plus VA Licensure in handlocals accepted ($10 reduction)No Dysrhythmia examOrientation Calendar: B for VA (this position can start any week)*manager will be interviewing candidates after prescreen *Unit Specific with biopsies hologicPrimary Function/General Purpose of Position: The Registered Mammography Technologist produces high quality breast imaging procedures while following guidelines established by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist), ACR (American College of Radiology) and MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program). They will perform all screening, diagnostic, invasive, and DEXA (dual energy X-ray absorptiometry) scans according toestablished protocols and procedures for interpretation by supervising physician. Essential Job Functions Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures. Assists the radiologist in invasive breast procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and consent is obtained by performing physician. Correlates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed provider. Conveys patient's clinical history to licensed provider prior to examination. Selects and operates breast imaging equipment and associated devices to achieve desired results. Selects appropriate radiographic technique exposure factors to produce quality diagnosticimages. Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of the mammographic procedures. Provides patient education and discharge instructions. Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans. Licensing/Certification: Certification and Registration in Mammography, ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) (preferred upon hire, or must obtain within six months of hire) State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed) BLS Basic Life Support American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required) Education: Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred) Work Experience: 1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred)
