Job Summary
The Mammography Technologist is responsible for performing mammography examinations following ACR requirements. This position assists with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic-guided procedures performed within the Breast Center. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in an expedient and professional manner, assisting in procedures using ultrasound guidance, and providing immobilization devices. The technologist ensures proper technical factors based on individual patient needs, operates equipment for specific procedures, and adheres to quality control and assurance standards in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations. Additional duties include patient education, documentation, and assisting with compiling statistics for patient follow-ups and tracking procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
- Must have ARRT certification.
- Must obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment.
- Must have an active Diagnostic Radiography License.
