Job Summary:
Mammographer, California This position involves performing mammograms and bone density studies under the supervision of the Mammography Supervisor and Manager. The role includes assisting radiologists with procedures such as needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram, ensuring compliance with Radiation Practice Standards, the American College of Radiology, and MQSA guidelines. The Mammographer will also participate in quality assurance activities and maintain thorough documentation to support diagnostic accuracy and patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 8 hours shift, minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Completion of a two-year Radiologic Technology training program approved by the American Medical Association (AMA); current Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license (R) (M); ARRT (R) certification; BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards; minimum of 6-12 months of experience within the past year.
- Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience as a licensed mammography technologist.
- Responsibilities include performing mammograms and bone density studies according to facility policies and procedures, assisting radiologists with needle localization, stereotactic biopsy, and galactogram procedures, obtaining patient histories, explaining procedures, preparing images for interpretation, and participating in quality assurance activities related to mammography and bone density. The role also involves assisting with scheduling, documentation, and working closely with the Lead Mammography Technologist to meet MQSA standards.
- Additional Information: The position requires working in accordance with Radiation Practice Standards, departmental policies, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures. The Mammographer will work closely with the team to meet departmental objectives and standards.
