Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse in Roanoke, VA. This contract position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced Med Surg unit with a supportive team. We welcome first-time travelers and local candidates, with no radius restrictions for locals.

Scheduling Details and Charting:

• Shift hours: 3x12s, days, 7a-7p
• Charting: EPIC experience preferred
• Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission
• Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• CRRN preferred
• CPI Blue Cert highly preferred

Required Clinical Skills:

• Experience in Med Surg and Rehab settings
• Skilled in peripheral line care/management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration and tanks, and isolation precautions

Unit Details and Floating:

• 1:6 ratios, may flex up to 1:7
• Common patient diagnoses: SCVA, SCI, TBI, amputee, multi-trauma
• 33-bed adult Med Surg unit (no telemetry)
• Nurses may be required to float to nearby units if needed (MS only -- 11W, 10W, 9W, and 5W)
