Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg - Neuro RN for a day shift position requiring stroke care experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical - Neuro unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Mandatory floating required to MS/Tele units
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required in Med/Surg Neuro specialty
• Stroke care experience required
• Strong neurological skills checklist required
• Experience with CVA and traumatic brain injury care preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and port access/management preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to neurological and medical-surgical patients, including stroke care
• Participate in isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, with potential for rotating shifts and inclement weather coverage
• Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• On-call responsibilities and weekend work required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 10 days permitted, with none allowed in the first week due to orientation
• Travelers residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply
• Travelers residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
