Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a designated Stroke Unit requiring NIHSS certification and at least one year of experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment on a Med Surg/Neurology unit within a hospital setting
• 30-bed unit primarily serving stroke patients, with some general medical-surgical patients mixed in
• Patients range from young adult through late adult (ages 18-60+)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Staffing plan includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with the RN assuming full responsibility for team patients
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity
• Notification of float assignments will always be given before the scheduled shift

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
