Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Oncology Telemetry position requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, Epic proficiency, and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Med/Surg Oncology unit
  • Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, managing soft tissue malignancies, symptom management related to disease treatment or progression, and comorbidity management
  • Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring is a core component of patient care on this unit
  • Patient ratio: 1:4
  • Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (7:00–19:30 days; 19:00–7:30 nights); shift assignments are determined per 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
  • Uses GE B450 telemetry monitors, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia recognition
  • Experience with port access, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and IV insertion
  • Experience assisting with chest tube insertion/removal
  • Experience with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and ABG interpretation
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; no coworker references accepted
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting an offer

Additional Information

  • Oncology experience is preferred but not required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Former employees of this facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to placement and is limited to 7 days or fewer for the contract duration
  • Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase near the medical center, ranging from surface lot access with shuttle service to covered garage access with 24/7 availability
