Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Orthopedics RN for a telemetry-capable unit requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 28-bed telemetry-capable unit serving a general orthopedic surgical adult population
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Unit supported by PCTs and a Healthcare Unit Coordinator
• Virtual sitter monitoring and monitor techs available for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carry out physician and nursing orders and monitor patient condition
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
• COVID vaccination is not required
