Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment on an Ortho Trauma/Med Surg unit requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Ortho Trauma/Med Surg unit located on the 4th floor, A tower, with 32 beds
• Staffing includes RN/LVN mix with PCT support, approximately 4-5 nurses and 2-3 PCTs per shift plus a charge nurse
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Baxter IV pumps and Welch Allyn vital signs machines
• Charts in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• No on-call requirements
• May float to sister Surgical Telemetry Unit or Inpatient Rehab as needed

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Professional reference required (two references required for Florida and Missouri)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient ambulation and PRN wound care
• Unit has an admission/discharge team to assist with the admitting and discharging process for Med/Surg patients
• Charge experience and preceptor experience preferred
• Team-oriented culture with staff support during busy shifts
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills valued
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates will not be considered
