Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 30-bed unit requiring 1 year of med-surg or acute care experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 30-bed Med/Surg unit within a hospital tower setting
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Typical procedures include post-surgical care (cholecystectomy, cystoscopy with stent placement), pain management, and CIWA monitoring
• Unit uses Hoyer lifts, Sara Steady lifts, and bladder scanners
• Charting completed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7P-7A
• Floating required per hospital needs
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or acute care experience required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Support staff includes charge RNs, PCTs, HUC, and sitters depending on shift and census
• Best suited for fast-paced, outgoing, and high-energy individuals
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
