Med-Surg Travel Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience; 3 or more years of nursing experience preferred
• Recent hospital medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Telemetry nursing experience and comfort using electronic medical records preferred
• Professional, adaptable team member who is open to feedback and demonstrates an ownership mindset
• Navy blue scrubs required

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients during overnight shifts
• Assess patient conditions, monitor for changes, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders, facility policies, and nursing standards
• Monitor telemetry and vital signs while documenting patient care accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate with RNs, LVNs, patient care technicians, providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Support patient safety, comfort, mobility, and discharge planning
• Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful patient care environment
• Adapt effectively to the needs of a newly opening medical-surgical unit and contribute to a positive team culture
