Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 14-bed Medical Surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using the Meditech electronic documentation system
- Collaborate with unit secretaries, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
- Fulfill scheduling requirements including 4 weekend shifts per schedule block
- Adhere to unit floating policy, with travel staff serving as first to float as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Proficiency with Meditech or comparable electronic health record system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical setting
- Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and stroke/thrombectomy care protocols
