Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 40-bed unit requiring an active GA or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg/Ortho unit (5 West) with 40 beds
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:7
• Unit staffed with 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit coordinator per shift
• Uses standard med-surg equipment and performs procedures such as EKGs, glucose checks, and venipuncture
• Documentation via Meditech
• Schedule of 36 hours per week with rotating weekends
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift
• 13-week assignment
• Contract staff are first to float to like units

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg RN experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to Med-Surg/Ortho patients including routine assessments and procedures
• Required uniform: royal blue top and bottom
• Facility features specialized centers including a burn center, digestive disease center, and stroke center
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
