Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Night Shift Contract in Salt Lake City, Utah

Join a collaborative medical-surgical nursing team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) in Salt Lake City, Utah. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Four weekend shifts per schedule, generally every other week; night-weekend shifts are Friday and Saturday nights
• Call Requirement: Approximately twice during the assignment
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6
• Documentation System: Epic
• Openings: 3
• Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Utah
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Basic arrhythmia recognition competency
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends, and scheduled call
• Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and a collaborative approach to patient care
• ACLS certification and charge nurse experience preferred

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a mixed medical-surgical unit
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and implement individualized nursing care plans
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Perform Foley catheter insertions and central line dressing changes according to established standards
• Use clinical judgment to identify changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Collaborate with nurses, technicians, providers, and ancillary departments to support safe, efficient patient care
• Float to other medical-surgical units within the facility as needed
• Maintain a flexible, organized, and patient-centered approach throughout the travel nursing assignment
