Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 26-bed unit requiring at least 1 year of recent med/surg experience and a UT or compact RN license.

Details

• 26-bed Medical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio
• Techs available on the unit for support
• Equipment includes hoyer lifts, rolling computers, and rolling vital signs machines
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Shift runs from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Scheduled for 4 weekend shifts per month
• May float to Surgical or Acute Rehab units
• Cares for patients returning from cardiac catheterization procedures performed in the cath lab

Requirements

• Active RN license (UT or compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent med/surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• BSN preferred
• Proficient in basics of patient care, normal VS and lab value ranges, medication administration, and controlled substance protocols
• Advanced skills required: NG/NJ tube management, chest tube care, and heparin drip administration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
