Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a busy post-surgical unit, requiring TN or compact RN licensure and at least one year of experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment in a post-surgical care Med/Surg unit
• 32-bed unit serving young adult through late adult patients (18-60+)
• Common diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, GI cancers, and morbid obesity
• Provides post-op care for general surgery patients and overflow medical/surgical patients from throughout the hospital
• Patients must be hemodynamically stable and not require mechanical ventilation
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Core staffing includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with the RN holding full responsibility for team patients
• May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, with advance notice given before scheduled shifts

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• US Social Security Number and US home address required for consideration

• Strong emphasis on teamwork and communication with providers, including surgical residents who cover most surgeons 24/7
