Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring TX or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of related experience.

Details

• Acute Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical and surgical adult patients, including joint replacement, general abdominal surgery, and spinal surgery cases
• Adult patients only, no pediatrics
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Full time, 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact required
• BLS certification (AHA only) required
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel positioning, unless approved as a local hire
• Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees (non-travel) must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a travel assignment at any CHRISTUS facility
