Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 7A-7P travel assignment on an acute rehabilitation unit requiring at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg or rehab experience.

Details

• 27-bed Acute Rehab unit on the 4th floor of a Level 1 trauma center hospital
• 5:1 patient ratio
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, and 2 CNAs; night shift includes 1 charge RN, 4 RNs, and 1.5 CNAs
• Uses iMobile on iPhones, gait belts, bed alarms, IV pumps, wound vacs, Hoyer lifts, and Welch-Allyn vitals machines
• Meditech EMR
• 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift schedule
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Rehabilitation RN experience required
• Experience in rehab, orthopedic, neuro, or trauma nursing preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration, safe ambulation and toileting assistance, central line dressing changes, catheter and peri-care, wound care including wet-to-dry dressing changes, wound vac management, blood administration, pain management, neuro checks, stroke-rehabilitation care, vital signs, blood sugar checks, and telemetry monitoring
• Works closely with 2 on-site rehab physicians and a rapid response and stroke team for acute medical events
• Collaborates with a dedicated PT/OT/ST therapy team
• Unit features computers in every room and telemetry monitoring at two nurses' stations
• Unit staff includes a mix of newer and seasoned RNs with extensive Med/Surg, ICU, rehab, and neuro rehab experience
• Supportive, relaxed, and collaborative team culture
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
