Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring 1 year of RN experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week travel assignment in a Medical Surgical Combination unit at a Joint Commission accredited hospital
• 48-bed unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Adult patient population with high turnover
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating is rare but may be required to inpatient rehab or ER for tasking
• Uses Paragon EHR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Skilled in starting IVs, inserting foley catheters, and inserting NG tubes
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
• Experience with high patient turnover and 1:6 ratios preferred

Additional Information

• Deliver Med/Surg nursing care within a large, Joint Commission accredited hospital rated "A" for hospital safety
• Facility features the region's largest and most comprehensive Emergency Department, including a free-standing ED, along with an advanced ICU and PCU
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any Lifepoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates must not be employed elsewhere full-time
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position, as at least one completed travel assignment is required
