• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, travelers float first
• Schedule Notes: Block scheduling; 36 or 48 hours may be accepted

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submittal
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, and peripheral line care
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric patients with general medicine and neuro-focused diagnoses
• Ability to work in a team-oriented healthcare environment with a strong focus on patient safety
• Open to floating within and near the facility as needed
• Willingness to complete EKG testing prior to start
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients with a neuro focus
• Monitor patient conditions, including telemetry and changes in neurological status
• Administer medications, maintain IVs, and support ongoing patient treatment plans
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the charting system
• Promote a safe, efficient, and organized patient care environment
• Adapt quickly to unit needs and support float assignments when required
• Provide excellent communication, teamwork, and bedside nursing care throughout the assignment
