Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an 18-bed Acute Neurosurgery and ENT unit requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• 18-bed post-op unit caring for Neurosurgery and ENT patients
• Neurosurgical cases include brain and spinal surgeries, trauma, cancer, stroke, and intracranial bleeds
• ENT cases include head and neck malignancies, cancer, infection, and surgeries of the mouth, tongue, jaw, thyroid, and oropharynx
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to function as charge nurse as needed, with training provided

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provides direct clinical nursing care using the nursing process in coordination with the interdisciplinary care team
• Participates in discharge planning, care planning, and patient/family education
• Performs bedside point of care testing as needed
• Engages in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
