Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Neuro/Ortho unit with night shift hours and rotating weekends.

Details

• Med-Surg unit specializing in neuro and orthopedic care on the 3rd floor
• 32-bed unit with 49 staff including RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
• Patient ratios of 1:4 (RN only) or 1:5-6 with PCT support
• Common procedures include total joint replacements, complex spine care, complex neuro surgery, and general surgery
• Uses Welch Allyn equipment and Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7pm-7am
• Rotates every 3rd weekend, with night shifts falling on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
• Floating required to Med/Tele and Surgical Specialty floors
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS or PALS preferred
• Basic Dysrhythmia class preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Fast-paced, team-oriented unit environment
• Provide care to patients undergoing complex orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures
• Royal blue scrub top and bottom required, or black scrub bottoms may be worn
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
