Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a short term acute care teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OR RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a short term acute care teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Required to work every other Friday and Saturday
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• No block scheduling available
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required, Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral/central line management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with wound care, wound vac, and IV insulin protocols preferred
• Experience with GI, GU/renal, and neurological/psychiatric patient care preferred

Additional Information

• Facility is a 536-bed short term acute care teaching hospital
• Scrubs may be any color except in OR/Cath Lab where scrubs are provided
• No parking fee at the facility
• Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period if living outside the 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
