Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 44-bed acute care unit on night shift, requiring NIHSS certification and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

• Acute Care 3 (Med/Surg) unit with 44 beds and 40 staff
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6
• CNA support available at approximately 1:8 to 1:10, also used as sitters
• Uses MEDITECH EMR, prior experience preferred but not required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required to all acute care and cardiac units, or to the ED for acute care patient holds
• General orientation is 1 week including EMR training, plus 2 days of floor-specific orientation
• 17-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required, both must be through AHA
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical-surgical unit
• Telemetry monitoring is performed on a different unit
• Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, based on the address on the candidate's driver's license, to be eligible for this position
• Candidates previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
