Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing or acute care RN experience
• Telemetry competency required
• Current BLS certification required
• Ability to safely manage 6-7 patients depending on shift
• Experience with urology, bowel, and post-surgical patient populations preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with charge nurses, providers, CNAs, and unit staff

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients with varied medical and surgical needs
• Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer and manage treatments including TPN, PCA, IV antibiotics, and heparin drips
• Care for patients with wound vacs, drains, catheters, colostomies, urostomies, PEG tubes, NG tubes, and CBI
• Support recovery for patients following bowel resections, urology surgeries, hernia repairs, thyroidectomies, and other procedures
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Cerner and communicate effectively across the care team
• Float to other Med/Surg areas as needed
