Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a full-time night shift position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work on a 4th floor Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Care for adult medical-surgical patient population
• Full-time night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract assignment
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Completion of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make independent clinical decisions
• Able to perform heavy work including exerting 50-100 lbs of force occasionally and frequent patient handling

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using the nursing process
• Provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Notify physicians of pertinent changes in patient status and implement orders as written
• Supervise and delegate role-appropriate tasks to nursing assistants and co-workers
• Ensure equipment and supplies are available and report malfunctions promptly
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and legible documentation of care provided
• Work collaboratively within a team-oriented care environment
