Job Description:

Seeking an experienced Med Surg RN to provide observation and/or inpatient care to patients assigned to the Med Surg Unit. Responsibilities include assessing and prioritizing patient care, administering nursing care and procedures, monitoring patients, documenting assessments and changes in condition, educating patients and families, collaborating with providers, and supporting continuity of care to prevent readmission.

Responsibilities:

• Provides patient care within the RN scope of practice and in accordance with physician/provider orders.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, nursing interventions, reassessments, and evaluation of care provided.
• Administers medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other treatments accurately and timely.
• Completes required Cerner documentation in accordance with competencies, training, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation, and takes appropriate action when needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room experience required.
• Previous traveler experience required.
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
• Current Colorado RN license, or ability to obtain required licensure, in good standing.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required or completion at next available course within 3 months.
• Current PALS certification required or completion at next available course within 3 months.
