Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring 2 years of experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical/Surgical unit of a 225-bed specialty care hospital with Level 2 trauma designation
• Adult and geriatric patient population ranging from 18 to 125 years old
• Patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Uses telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
• Cerner EHR system in use
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekend hours required, working every other weekend
• Occasional floating to similar units required
• 36 weekly guaranteed hours

Requirements

• Active RN license (MI State or Compact) currently in hand
• Current ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Bachelor's degree required, BSN preferred
• Prior medical/surgical unit experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment

Additional Information

• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Scrub color required is Galaxy Blue or Navy
• Tattoos that may be considered offensive must be covered, and excessive jewelry is not permitted
• Fingernails must be kept clean and short in compliance with Hand Hygiene Policy
