• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,860–$1,960
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Float: May be required to similar units
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Unit Census: Approximately 32 patients daily

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience managing a 1:5–6 patient assignment in a medical-surgical setting
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Charting system experience required
• Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in an acute care environment
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and float to similar units as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient care to medical-surgical patients
• Manage post-operative and complex adult and geriatric cases with confidence
• Care for patients with diagnoses including colon surgery, Whipple surgery, cholecystectomy, liver resections, bariatric surgery, GYN surgery, mastectomy, hernia surgery, colitis, pancreatitis, abdominal pain, gastroparesis, bowel obstruction, and Crohn’s disease
• Monitor telemetry and support patients requiring MS/tele level care
• Perform and maintain IV access, administer medications, and support blood product administration as indicated
• Provide wound care, manage wound vacs, drains, feeding tubes, ostomy care, and other common Med/Surg nursing interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and support rapid response/code initiatives when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team
