Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of recent acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit within a Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM with no block scheduling
• Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Mandatory float facility; clinicians may be floated within scope, mid-shift, and to other Cook facilities up to 50 miles from home facility with as little as 2 hours notice
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
• Two professional references required prior to start, from most recent employers, one per employer
• Proof of COVID vaccination required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including respiratory and cardiac monitoring support
• Team-based care model used when floated outside primary competency
• RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends
• No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday; calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
• Returning clinicians must undergo full recredentialing and reattend orientation regardless of break length
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
