Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our medical surgical unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. This role requires clinical expertise, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Unit Overview

The position is located on a 32-bed general medical inpatient unit, which manages a variety of patient diagnoses including respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions. The unit also provides care for dialysis patients, those with sepsis, and other infections.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Document patient information and care interventions using the Epic charting system.
• Participate in unit-wide quality improvement initiatives.

Contract Details

• Contract Length: 26 weeks preferred, with the possibility of extension.
• Orientation Dates: Available starting on 10/05/2026, 10/19/2026, 11/02/2026, 11/16/2026, and 11/30/2026.
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week.
• Rotation: Every other weekend and holidays with one holiday off allowed.

Qualifications

• Current AHA BLS certification required at time of submission.
• Valid KS or multistate nursing license without any restrictions or hits.
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• First-time travelers are not accepted.

Additional Information

Candidates should be prepared to exhibit flexibility with start dates based on orientation class size. A robust vaccination history including Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella (via titer or vaccination proof), as well as TDaP and annual flu vaccination or exemption, will be needed.
