Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Idaho
• At least 1 year of registered nursing experience, preferably in a Medical-Surgical or acute-care setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Ability to provide documentation required for travel nurse assignment compliance
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-care skills

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to established standards
• Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, recovery, and discharge plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care environment
