Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• 13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Uses Epic charting system
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current BLS certification
• 2 years of Med/Surg experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Telemetry monitoring experience (on-unit and remote)
• Experience with medication administration including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA

Additional Information

• Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response support
• Complete onsite orientation modules averaging 4-6 hours upon starting
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted
• Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO must be listed at time of submission with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
