Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift contract requiring VT or compact RN licensure and at least 3 years of acute care experience.

Details

• General Med/Surg unit providing medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care
• Patient population is mainly adults with occasional pediatric patients
• Not a pediatric floor, so pediatric-only RNs are not suitable for this role
• Night shift, 7pm-7am, three 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Schedule includes every other weekend
• Reports to the Unit Director and collaborates with the Clinical Nurse Lead and/or Nursing Supervisor during shifts
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active VT or multi-state compact RN license required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Flu shot required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Coordinate comprehensive patient care using the Nursing Process for adult and pediatric patients
• Provide holistic care addressing patients' age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs
• Work in a 25-bed, independent, nonprofit critical access hospital offering primary, preventive, surgical, specialty, inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services
• Located in a rural setting without public transportation or rideshare access, so reliable personal transportation is recommended
• Housing is the traveler's responsibility, though local housing resource lists are available
• Holiday coverage is required
• All required credentials must be uploaded five business days before the start date
• Contracts begin on Wednesdays, with midweek start affecting first-week hours
