Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong clinical, technical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to occasional floating and support additional unit needs

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Coordinate and direct nursing care in accordance with established clinical standards and hospital policies
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support positive patient outcomes
• Monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately to changes in status
• Assist with unit support tasks when floating, including vital signs, IV placement, and answering phones as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow departmental procedures and compliance standards
