Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring a Michigan RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Work on a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes a mix of medical patients, including ortho/neurovascular and cardio/pulmonary cases, along with surgical patients such as GI, urology, hysterectomy, and mastectomy cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• 36 or 48 hour work weeks available
• Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 patients on nights, which may flex to 7-8 patients with LPN support in these instances
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other Med Surg units required, typically about once per week
• Must be willing to work alongside a variety of staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Techs

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required, pending certification may be accepted
• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• Must provide proof of Flu vaccination or submit exemption request within 48 hours of signing contract
• Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

• Must be available for the first 2 weeks of the assignment for orientation
• Travelers are given priority when floating to other units
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
• Local candidates beyond 50 miles are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months, and previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days during the assignment
• Annual self-reported training modules are completed during orientation and are non-billable
