Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg for a complex medicine and research unit requiring strong Trach, NIHSS, IV start, and PICC line skills.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg unit of a hospital environment focused on complex medicine and research
- Patient population includes complicated UTI/PNA, sepsis, trachs, PEGs, peritoneal dialysis, AMS, and pancreatitis cases
- Unit operates as a research unit for 14 days per month, with the remainder dedicated to complex medicine care
- Research responsibilities include participating in flu challenge studies involving healthy patients monitored for symptoms
- 12-hour AM shifts
- 13-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required in hand
- Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
- Strong Med/Surg skills required
- Experience with Trach care, NIHSS, IV starts, and PICC lines required
- Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for complex medical and research-based cases
- Participate in specialized research protocols alongside standard Med/Surg duties
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former employees of this health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
- RTO requests are limited, with stricter allowances around holiday periods
- Candidates may only be submitted to one position at a time within this health system
