Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring stroke certification and IL RN licensure.

Details

• Work on a 25-bed Medical unit with 11 private and 7 semi-private rooms in a hospital setting
• Care for a diverse adult patient population including stroke, post-operative, wound care, dialysis, and COPD exacerbation cases
• Nursing ratio is 5:1 on days and 5-6:1 on nights, with occasional 1:1 total care assignments
• Night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• Stroke certification required

Additional Information

• Provide care to a wide variety of medical-surgical patients, with stroke patients representing the largest population
• Manage post-operative patients with amputations, drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
• Administer heparin drips and provide wound care and CIWA monitoring
• Support patients with altered mental status, AKI, dialysis needs, and COPD exacerbations
