We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient Med/Surg setting. The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, care planning, monitoring, documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team.
Assignment Details
- Position: Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
- Location: Arcata, California
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Pay: $85/hour
- License: Active California RN License required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
- Provide nursing care to adult medical and post-surgical patients.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and patient responses to treatment.
- Develop and follow individualized nursing care plans.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Promote patient safety and follow infection-control and hospital policies.
- Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
Requirements
- Active California RN License.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Proof of a negative TB screen completed within 12 months of the contract start date.
- Medical-Surgical/acute-care nursing experience preferred.

Travelers are encouraged to explore furnished short-term housing options in Arcata, McKinleyville, Blue Lake, Eureka, and other nearby communities within approximately 20 miles of Arcata.
