Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN applies interventions to treat presenting symptoms and evaluates the effectiveness of these interventions alongside the patient's responses. This role involves functioning as both a team leader and a resource to other team members. The RN is responsible for delegating, overseeing, and providing direction to support staff, while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to establish patient-specific goals and outcomes. The RN is dedicated to meeting the needs of diverse patient populations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• 40%: Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
• 30%: Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, patient education, and assisting with activities such as transfers and responding to alarms.
• 20%: Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and participate in updating or revising it in collaboration with other team members, utilizing current information to enhance patient care.
• 10%: Maintain knowledge and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures related to patient care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience.
• Pediatric experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is highly preferred.
• Active Michigan RN license is mandatory.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are required.

Work Schedule

This position entails working 12-hour night shifts, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. The RN will be required to work every other weekend and holiday.
