Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring EPIC and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

  • Work in the Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
  • Floating required to similar units
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education for Med/Surg patients
  • Receive bedside shift report and delegate patient care tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs)
  • Maintain patient safety priorities including fall precautions, isolation precautions, and pressure ulcer prevention
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely discharge
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Candidates who have completed 1 year of assignment with this health system must take a 6-month break in service before returning
