Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Med/Surg for a Level 1 Trauma hospital unit requiring active IL RN licensure and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in the Inpatient Overflow Med/Surg unit of a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekend and holiday shifts required as needed
• Floating required to similar units
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong skills in interdisciplinary collaboration, time management, critical thinking, documentation, and medication administration

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for a designated group of patients using the nursing process across an assigned shift
• Receive bedside shift report and validate a safe patient room environment at each shift change
• Delegate patient care tasks to healthcare care technicians and validate completion throughout the shift
• Complete assessments, vital sign interpretation, admission/discharge processes, hourly rounding, and care plan documentation
• Administer medications following the 5 Rights: right patient, medication, route, dose, and time
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Facilitate quick admission/discharge processes for observation status patients
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• RTO may not exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract
• Previous contingent workers may not have been on assignment for more than 1 year at this facility without a required 6-month break in service
