Unit Notes:* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.**Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.****Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contractDepartment: Med Surg*Certifications: BLS*We have updated ratios with the new VIC (Virtually Integrated Care) model.We are implementing a dyad model. This means the nurse will have their own CNA and the support of a virtual nurse. The nursing ratio for Med/Surg will now be 1:6 7, and the CNA ratio will also be 1:6 7. The virtual nurse will have a ratio of 1:30. - Beds: 42- Ratios: 1:6/7- How often are staff taking a 1:6 ratio: At least once a week - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Medical, surgical, and orthopedics- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift Does the charge nurse take an assignment: Yes- Any titratable drips: NO, except Heparin- RT available and what equipment (has only worked with RT doing all setup): RT is 24 hours on the floor- Tele on the floor at all, central tele (any monitor techs): Yes Tele's on the floor, but we have a centralized Tele station.- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit Ratios Duties: Yes- 1:6/7 -Virtual nurse 1:30 ratio- Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700- Weekend Requirement: As needed- Holiday Requirement: As needed- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No- Floating Requirements: PCU or Burn- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: Navy blue- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: First week is classroom and then 2-12 hour shifts on the floorRadius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
