Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day shift position requiring 1 year of experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• Day shift schedule (4x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM)
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Weekend commitment of 6 shifts within a 6 week period
• Float to units of equal acuity as needed based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start)
• BLS certification required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required (24 months for first-time travelers)
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Genitourinary/renal care skills including pre/post hemodialysis management
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical unit including wound care, IV therapy, and respiratory support
• First-time travelers welcome to apply provided they meet the 24-month experience requirement
• Travelers will receive a brief orientation prior to floating to like units
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
