Job Summary (in list format):

- Provides professional nursing care for a group of patients during assigned time frames.
- Utilizes the nursing process, current nursing trends, and technology to deliver patient care.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation for effective team communication.
- Conducts initial patient assessments and develops individualized care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements and continuously evaluates care plans, modifying them as necessary.
- Ensures patient and staff safety by identifying and resolving safety hazards/incidents.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to resolve issues.
- Offers constructive feedback and supports professional development of peers.
- Identifies personal learning needs and seeks ongoing education and development.
- Completes all department-required competencies and training.

Department-Specific Functions:

- Receives and gives bedside shift reports, ensuring patient safety and accurate information transfer.
- Delegates tasks to Health Care Technicians (HCTs) and monitors task completion.
- Performs and documents patient assessments, interprets vital signs, and ensures physician orders are followed.
- Manages patient admissions, discharges, hourly rounding, and patient education.
- Meets documentation standards for the Medical/Surgical unit.
- Administers medications following the 5 Rights of medication administration.
- Prioritizes patient safety, implementing measures such as fall and pressure ulcer prevention.
- Maintains a positive, team-oriented attitude to support a healthy work and patient environment.
- Responds promptly to patient call lights and addresses patient needs efficiently.
- Uses critical thinking and nursing judgment to monitor and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Facilitates effective communication and collaboration among the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Manages time efficiently to expedite admission, discharge, and patient testing processes for Observation status patients.

Med Ninjas Job ID #5184. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
