Description

American Traveler is hiring a night shift Med Surg RN with active MI licensure and at least 2 years of straight medical-surgical experience for a fast-paced trauma and stroke unit.

Details

• 28 to 60-bed Medical Surgical unit with mixed acuity patient populations
• Patients include general, vascular, bariatric, and plastic surgery, trauma, stroke, and inpatient hospice cases
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of straight Med Surg experience required (float or SDU/Tele experience not accepted)
• Level I or Level II Trauma center experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required for consideration
• LARA and Nursys license verification required

• Work within an active Unit Based Council promoting shared governance and teamwork
• Orientation and support provided for new team members
• Strict attendance policy in effect: 3 absences or late arrivals of more than 20 minutes may result in immediate termination
• Local candidates within a 35-mile radius are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rate
• Former full-time employees of the health system are not eligible for contract hire within six months of their employment end date
• Maximum of 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment
