Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Contract in Uniontown, PA

Join an acute-care nursing team in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, as a Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse supporting a flexible float pool across medical-surgical, telemetry, and stepdown units. This 13-week Pennsylvania travel nursing contract offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population, including post-surgical, orthopedic, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, palliative, and downgraded intensive-care patients. Travel Nursing Job Details

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• At least 1 year of recent acute-care nursing experience; Med/Surg telemetry or stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Strong telemetry assessment skills, including the ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Experience caring for patients requiring cardiac monitoring, progressive-care interventions, and respiratory support such as BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Ability to float between medical-surgical, telemetry, stepdown, rehabilitation, and other designated inpatient areas as needed
• Comfort caring for patients with varied medical conditions, including infectious precautions and complex or end-of-life care

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients across medical-surgical, telemetry, and stepdown units
• Float between assigned units according to patient census, acuity, and staffing needs
• Monitor, assess, and document patients with dysrhythmias, CVAs, post-surgical conditions, orthopedic diagnoses, pneumonia, dialysis needs, and other acute-care conditions
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Safely administer and titrate appropriate infusions, including Cardizem, nitroglycerin, dopamine, dobutamine, and heparin, according to orders and facility policy
• Care for patients receiving BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen in collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Perform thorough assessments, medication administration, care planning, patient education, and accurate Epic documentation
• Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, monitor technicians, nursing assistants, and interdisciplinary care teams
• Support safe transitions of care for patients transferred from higher-acuity settings and assist with unit operations during periods of increased demand
