Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN or neuro nursing experience preferred
- Competence in dysrhythmia recognition
- Ability to successfully complete a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation
- NIH Stroke Scale and swallow screen experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort caring for adult neuro and medical-surgical patients
- Willingness to complete required facility education during orientation
- Availability for weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Ability to float if needed, though rarely required
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy Neuro Med/Surg unit
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, including neurologic and cardiac concerns
- Administer medications and perform dosage calculations accurately
- Support patients with diagnoses such as CVA, TIA, seizures, mobility issues, and respiratory or urinary concerns
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and follow unit workflows
- Contribute to a professional, patient-focused environment while delivering compassionate care
- Participate in orientation and complete any required facility competencies
