Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel contract requiring 24 months of Med/Surg experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit (2N) at a hospital with 30 beds
• Patient population includes hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery cases
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Utilizes PCA and Heparin drips
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, with a 36 or 48 hr/week option
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across multiple campuses to like units
• Unit has an emotional support canine on-site

Requirements

• Active IA state RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• PCA and Heparin drip experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Post-op surgical experience highly preferred
• Experience with hip/knee, mastectomy, or abdominal surgery patients highly preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including monitoring surgical and post-op patients
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Local candidates are not accepted within 50 miles of the facility
• Past UPH FTE or PRN float pool employees are not eligible to work as travelers in another market
