Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring MA licensure, telemetry experience, and willingness to float to any Med/Surg unit.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a 298-bed teaching hospital
• Unit size ranges from 20 to 34 beds depending on assignment
• Typical patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with holiday coverage as needed
• Floating to any Med/Surg unit required; block scheduling not offered
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand at time of profile upload; compact license not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of current Medical/Surgical experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Basic Dysrhythmia course completion strongly required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in hand at profile upload
• Meditech Expanse EMR experience highly preferred
• Must have own vehicle for this assignment
• Supervisory reference from within the past two years of employment required
• Current Medical Surgical skills checklist (within 1 year) required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit within a full-service teaching hospital
• Dress code allows personal scrubs of any color
• 8 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Must work two designated holiday blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving through the following weekend, Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the following weekend, and New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the following weekend
• No more than 5 days of RTO accepted, and RTO requests must be submitted with initial profile; requests made after offer or during interview will not be approved
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered
• Permanent address must be included at time of profile submission
• At least two specific interview availability dates/times must be provided upfront
